Bio:

When Gardain was still a young child his father sent him to train and fight with the Darksmasher mercenaries.

The Darksmashers were ironwrought dwarves, trained in the elemental powers to help push back Goblins wherever they caused problems for dwarves. The Darksmashers usually patrolled through the foot hills and frequently ventured further in to the mountains when hired by someone, usually the owner of a mine, to help clear out Goblins that were causing problems for the miners.

Gardain learned to weild hammers and maces of all shapes and sizes. He crushed the skull of a goblin before he had even had his first stein of ale. (the first stein came later then night when the darksmashers celebrated the victory.)

And so it was that Gardain grew in to a mighty warrior, rising through the ranks of the Darksmashers, the darksmashers were his family, his brothers and sisters, if he were a great warrior it was only because of the support he had around him, or at least thats what he would say. The truth was that he frequently crushed more goblins than the rest of his patrol combined. He was always the first to know when they were getting close to the goblins, he could smell the foul stench they left in a room or cave, and if he caught a whiff of them on the wind he would bolt off towards them, usually leaving the rest of the patrol scrambling to catch up. More often than not, by the time the rest of his party caught up, all that would be left to do was stack the bodies on a bonfire to destroy the filthy corpses.

Lately business had been growing in to a boom. There were so many goblins pouring out of the mountains, and so many potential customers that they had to start turning down contracts. Their patrols were coming across goblins closer and closer to their camp. Darksmasher scouts and found a goblin outpost built in to an abandoned mine. Gardain proposed a plan to push the goblins back in to the mine, and collapse the entrance, this would take the pressure off, at least for a while. The plan was approved by high commander Garmob and set in to motion.

Gardain returned victorious a few days later, as a reward he was promoted to Commander, and given a week of leave.

Gardain didn’t go far for his leave, just in to town, specifically the Inn. He set himself at a corner table where he could relax and watch the comings and goings of the town folk and began to enjoy mug after mug of ale.
